Blessing Over the Trees

  1. The blessing may be recited any time during the month of Nisan.
  2. Do not recite this blessing on Sabbath or Yom-Tov.
  3. Its preferable to recite the blessing together with a minyan (quorum of ten adult men) so that Kaddish can be recited.
  4. Its preferable to recite this blessing outside of the city.
  5. This blessing is recited over two or more trees that have blossomed (allowed if same type of tree).
  6. Do not recite the blessing on a tree that was grafted illegally.

For the sake of the unification of the Holy One, blessed is He, and His Divine Presence – with reverence and love and love and reverence – to unify the Name Yod Ke with Vav Ke in a perfect unity, in the name of all Israel and in the name of all lower souls, spirits, and higher souls which relate to the roots of our lower soul, spirit, and higher soul, and that which clothes them and those in their proximity that generally derive from the worlds of: Emanation, Creation, Formation and Making and from all the specific sources of: Emanation, Creation, Formation and Making.  We are hereby prepared and ready to fulfill the commandment of reciting the blessing that the Sages, of blessed memory, instituted over the seeing of blossoming trees.  And may it be considered before You, Adonai, our God, God of our forefathers, as if we had contemplated all the meanings that are appropriate to the contemplate when reciting this blessing – as well as the secrets within it.  And may it be deemed worthy and acceptable and favorable before You – this blessing to select and to bring up through it all the holy sparks that are intermingled in all vegetation, and all the lower souls, spirits, and higher souls that are reincarnated within it.  And You, O God, with Your attribute of goodness and with Your great kindness, illuminate for them with the light of Your countenance and complete their selection and their rectification.  Bless them, purify them; Your compassionate righteousness always grant them.  And may it be Your will, Adonai, our God, God of our forefathers, that in the merit of this blessing that we are about to recite, may it come true for us, the statement: “Behold the scent of my son is like the fragrance of the field that was blessed by Adonai.”  And may we receive the largesse of the ten blessings, as is written: “May God grant you from the dew of the heavens and from the fat of the earth, and an abundance of grain and wine.  Let nations serve you and kingdoms bow down to you.  Be a ruler over your brothers and let your mother’s children bow to you.  Let those who curse you be cursed and those who bless you be blessed.”  May they find favor  – the utterance of my mouth, and the thoughts of my heart – before You, Adonai, my Rock and my Redeemer.  May the pleasantness of Adonai, our God, be upon us, O God, establish our handiwork for us – our handiwork establish.

Recite the blessing with joy and concentration:

Blessed are You, Adonai, our God, King of the universe, Who did not allow anything to lack in His world and Who created good creatures within it and good trees to give pleasure to mankind through them.
